What is the plot of Khosla Ka Ghosla?
The film revolves around Kamal Kishore Khosla (Anupam Kher), a retired middle-class man living in New Delhi with his wife, daughter and two sons. He has invested all his life savings in buying a plot of land in South Delhi where he plans to build his dream house. However, he is shocked to find out that his plot has been occupied by Kishan Khurana (Boman Irani), a corrupt and powerful builder who demands Rs. 15 lakhs to vacate the plot.
Khosla refuses to pay the ransom and tries to get his land back legally, but he faces many hurdles and obstacles from Khurana's connections and resources. His elder son, Chiraunji Lal aka Cherry (Parvin Dabas), is a software engineer who is not interested in his father's plan and wants to move to the US for a better job. His younger son, Balwant aka Bunty (Ranvir Shorey), is a cheerful but irresponsible guy who does not have much respect for his father. His daughter, Nikki (Rupam Bajwa), is a tomboy who supports her father but does not have much influence.
Khosla loses all hope of getting his land back until Cherry decides to help him out after meeting Asif Iqbal (Vinay Pathak), a former partner of Khurana who was cheated by him. Together with Asif, Cherry devises a clever plan to con Khurana and get him to pay Rs. 35 lakhs for a fake land deal. He also enlists the help of his girlfriend Meghna (Tara Sharma), an aspiring actress, and her theatre troupe to act as fake buyers and sellers. The plan involves creating fake identities, documents, websites and phone calls to fool Khurana into believing that he is buying a prime property from a rich NRI.
The plan goes smoothly until Khurana gets suspicious and tries to verify the details of the deal. He also sends his goons to threaten Khosla and his family.
